🚰 Hydrant Flushing & Valve Maintenance Notice

During the week of July 21, 2025 and the week of July 28, 2025, the Jerome Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants and exercising water main valves throughout the Village.

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires all fire hydrants to be tested and flushed annually. This process clears sediment from hydrants, valves, and water mains to ensure the delivery of clean, healthy water to homes and businesses.

💧 What Residents Can Expect:

  • Temporary water discoloration or sediment is possible.
  • There is no need to boil water or take special precautions.
  • To clear your lines, run cold water from a bathtub or outdoor spigot until it clears.

🗺️ Maintenance Zones:

The Village water system is divided into zones. Flushing will follow this schedule:

  • Week 1 (Zones 1–5):
    • Zone 1: North side of Wabash Ave
    • Zone 2: South side of Wabash Ave
    • Zone 3: Calland Dr., Jerome Ave., and intersections
    • Zone 4: W. Grand Ct., Vernon Ave., and intersections
    • Zone 5: Alberta Ln., Reed Ave., and intersections
